As the Vice President of Franchise Development at Batteries Plus, my journey with franchising is a deeply personal one that has profoundly shaped my life in ways I never could have imagined. I was born and raised in Recife, Brazil, where my father owned a cleaning business franchise. Franchising was a way of life for us, providing a livelihood and a sense of purpose and community. However, our lives took a dramatic turn when my father’s safety was threatened. Faced with danger, we made the difficult decision to leave everything behind and move to the United States to pursue a new dream. Starting over in a new country was no small feat. Knowing the challenges ahead, I immersed myself in the world of business, earning a business management degree with an International Business Certificate. My father’s experiences instilled in me a profound appreciation for the opportunities franchising offers. Straight out of college, I dedicated myself to helping various franchise brands expand internationally, driven by the belief that franchising can transform lives. At just 32 years old, I’ve had the privilege of helping countless individuals realize their dreams through franchising. Here are some key initiatives I’ve been proud to champion:

Embracing Diversity in Franchise Ownership

Growing up trilingual and with a rich Latin background, I’ve leveraged my skills to help several brands grow in Central and South America and Europe. One of my proudest achievements is launching several Latino Groups within the International Franchise Association (IFA). These groups create a welcoming environment for Latino franchise owners, fostering inclusivity and diversity within the industry.

A Vision for International Growth

While my primary focus has been on domestic growth for Batteries Plus, I have always had my sights set on international expansion. The potential for Batteries Plus in overseas markets, especially in developing countries where access to reliable battery solutions is limited, is immense. I have begun laying the groundwork to make this vision a reality, recognizing the global need for our products.

Helping franchise owners succeed brings me great satisfaction, as it empowers local communities.
