For Batteries Plus, the first half of 2026 has been defined by continued expansion, investment in our franchise network, and a focus on strengthening the foundation behind our brand’s growth.

We signed 15 franchise agreements, representing 30 new units, and opened 12 new stores in the first six months of the year. These numbers reflect continued confidence from entrepreneurs looking for an opportunity built around essential products, diversified revenue streams, and long-term demand.

But behind those numbers are the people, programs, and partnerships helping shape the next phase of Batteries Plus growth.

Creating Momentum Before Opening Day

One of the biggest opportunities driving franchise growth in 2026 has been our focus on commercial partnerships.

Through the Batteries Plus Commercial First program, franchise owners can begin building commercial relationships well before their retail location officially opens.

This means our owners don’t have to wait until opening day to start creating business momentum.

Franchisees are using this program to connect with organizations including hospitals, schools, municipalities, and businesses that depend on reliable power solutions every day.

Recognizing Franchisee Success Across the Network

The strength of a franchise system is ultimately measured by the success of its owners.

In May, we got to celebrate franchisee achievements at our annual Sales Achievement Event in Orlando, recognizing owners who continue to drive growth and excellence throughout the network.

The event brought together 150 franchisees representing 75 ownership groups, with 226 awards presented across categories including commercial growth and operational performance.

Among those recognized was Sion Owen, who received Rookie of the Year honors after quickly building a strong commercial presence in the Minneapolis market through the Commercial First program.

These accomplishments reflect the commitment franchise owners bring to their businesses and communities every day.

Investing in the Future of the Franchise System

As the Batteries Plus network continues to grow, the brand is also investing in the teams and technology that support franchise owners.

In 2026, we promoted Jon Sica from Chief Operating Officer to President, strengthening the leadership structure behind our continued growth.

The franchise development team also expanded with the addition of Rick Schanz as Franchise Development Manager of Resales/Conversions and the promotion of Scott Buchalter to Senior Director of Relations and Administration.

Beyond leadership growth, Batteries Plus continues to explore new ways technology can improve the franchise experience.

The brand has spent years building an AI-ready foundation and is now developing proprietary tools designed to reduce friction, improve efficiency, and support franchise owners and customers.

As Chief Development Officer Joe Malmuth says, “The goal is not technology for technology’s sake. It’s about creating solutions that make it easier for franchisees to operate and grow.”

Building a Brand That Makes an Impact

Growth at Batteries Plus extends beyond locations and revenue.

Through its Power with Purpose program, the brand continues to support organizations and communities through initiatives designed to create meaningful impact.

The brand also expanded its community efforts through the Power with Purpose: America 250 campaign, supporting the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) National Veterans Service Program through a partnership with LUXPRO.

These initiatives reflect the belief that a strong franchise system is built not only around business success, but around the communities franchise owners serve.

Looking Ahead

The first half of 2026 has been an important chapter for us.

From new franchise agreements and store openings, to commercial growth, leadership investments, and continued innovation, we are focused on creating a stronger foundation for franchise owners today and in the future.

As the second half of the year begins, Batteries Plus remains committed to supporting entrepreneurs who want to build a business backed by a proven model, an established brand, and a network built for growth.
